The Frankenstein Meme Exhibit ran from October 27 through December 21, 2018 in the Salz-Pollak Atrium Gallery of the Pollak Library at California State University, Fullerton. The Exhibit kicked off with a Program Series of papers and events at the end of October to commemorate Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley’s novel, Frankenstein. Students and staff of CSUF participated in the program to bring new conversations regarding Dr. Frankenstein, his creature, and the themes it brings along with it.

- Dr. David Sandner explores the effect Mary Shelley’s novel has had on different pieces of literature over the past 200 years.

- A writing workshop lead by award-winning writers and CSUF Alums Tim Powers and James Blaylock for CSUF students.

Tuesday, October 30
11:30 AM – 12:30 PM | The Frankenstein Meme Project Talk: Focus on Student Contributions
- Dr. David Sandner discusses the project, its timeline, and the contributions made by students in his class over the past two years.
2:00 – 3:00 PM | The Monstrously Daring Mary Shelley
- Lecture on Mary Shelley’s life before Frankenstein’s release. Learn more about what Mary Shelley was dared to do and how we play a part.
- Lead by Luivette Resto
5:00 – 7:00 PM | “I’ve Created a Monster!”: Doubles and Compromised Agency in Frankenstein and its Expressionist Predecessors
- A lecture and screening of Frankenstein (1931) wherein discussions of doubles and popular culture arise.
- Lead by Dr. Rebecca Sheehan, an Associate Professor of Cinema and Television Arts at California State University, Fullerton
Wednesday, October 31
9:00 AM – 7:30 PM | Frankenstein Readathon
- Guests across campus will participate in the international event, Frankenreads, and read Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, or the Modern Prometheus out loud.
- Started off by Dean Emily Bonney with special guest readers President Fram Virjee, Julie Virjee, and Provost Knutson-Miller
